John R. Echevarria was first elected in 2020 as the Council Member representing then District 5.  He has since been re-elected for another four years to represent the new District 4. John received his Associate's degree in Administration of Justice, from San Bernardino Valley College, Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, from California State University San Bernardino, and Master's degree in Public Administration, from California Baptist University. At the age of 18, John began his career in public service with the City of Upland. At the age of 23, he transferred to the City of San Bernardino, where he currently holds the position of Police Lieutenant. John is a certified Spanish interpreter who has previously served the City of Colton as a Planning Commissioner and the Mayor Pro Tempore.
